VMV Hypoallergenics Illuminants + Axillight: Treatment + Antiperspirant

Long time no write! Sorry about that. things have been really hectic, but I do have loads that I want to talk about in the weeks to come. Happy December, by the way! :) I hope the holiday spirit is alive and kicking in you all!

So today I just wanted to tell you guys a little bit about this antiperspirant and lightening treatment from the VMV Hypoallergenics Illuminants line. The entire Illuminants line is aimed at eliminating dark spots, discolouration, and dullness. There are also creams from the line for the face, hands, and body, but this treatment is (as you may have guessed) for the underarms.

While I don’t understand how some guys are obsessed with white underarms to the point of being totally turned on by them, I do understand that no girl wants to be insecure because of a little darkness in that area. I wasn’t lucky enough to be born free of body hair, so I inevitably developed some underarm darkness from shaving, waxing, and probably even as a reaction to some deodorants in the past, too. That vastly improved when I started laser hair removal on my underarms, but I was still not too happy to be raising my arms in public for the world to see. Enter the VMV Illuminants +Axillight: Treatment + Antiperspirant (935.00 Php). VMVD2I’ve been using this for just under five months now. It’s one of those treatments that you need to slowly introduce into your routine because some of the ingredients can be a harsh on the skin. This spray in particular contains quite a bit of aluminum chlorohydrate (25% of the formulation, to be exact), which are essentially drying crystals. These are used in many antiperspirants but in smaller quantities, so with this particular treatment, gradually easing it in is key. If you choose to try this out, the brochure will help you through that, but essentially you start with twice-a-week application and slowly work up to everyday use. I’m not a heavy sweat-er, so this worked well enough for me. It’s certainly not as strong as some other antiperspirants out there, though.

But the real magic of this product is in the tone correction, brightening, and hyperpigmentation therapy abilities. I don’t think I’ve ever used a whitening antiperspirant/deodorant that delivered claims like this one does. Actually, I’m sure of it. The brochure reads: a “unique lightening botanical complex made up of 7 Swiss Alpine plants, each proven to inhibit tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for the production of melanin or skin pigment” is responsible for this lightening, brightening miracle. Top that off with glycerin for moisture and green tea for its reparative and soothing effects and you’ve the perfect all-around underarm treatment. The only thing this might lack (for some) is fragrance. That’s not so bad in my opinion because it won’t clash with your perfume or cologne of choice.

If you’re looking to correct hyperpigmentation and brighten your underarm area without making it look chemically bleached, look no further. I don’t mean to sound like a sales advertisement, but I really did see results after using this stuff and I’m hoping it gets even better with time. But no, I won’t be posting photos of my underarms. Sorry. Have a look at this slideshow of “pit perfect” celebs instead: click here. Lol.

So I’m curious– have your underarms ever been a point of insecurity? And do you know anyone who’s pit-obsessed?

How many sessions did it take with the laser thing? Also, diode or IPL? Is it the one in Wink?

Awesome! Thanks for the review, I’m looking for something like this. I am a bit insecure about my underarms too but I don’t think I can afford those expensive treatments. A product like this is a great help!

  3. Love this one. My boyfriend is one of those guys who are obsessed with white (and smooth) underarms! I’m gonna give this a try. Thanks for the review! :)
