Mizon’s Returning Starfish Cream || Quick Look

RSFC1Good morning! :) (edit: this went up late, but it’s morning somewhere, right? hehe) Here’s the second of the things that came in my BNT Box: Mizon’s Returning Starfish Cream (RRP at around $28).* A lot of the products in the box are skincare items, so these posts about them will have to be more of introductory and first-impression like in nature. If I like the product well enough, you can expect to see it again in the future.

As with all the other things in the box, this from a Korean brand which, I’m quickly learning, almost always means adorable packaging. This seems to be new packaging as well because when I was reading about the product online, the pot was a little bit different.
RSFC2So what is “Returning Starfish Cream” exactly? It’s a facial moisturizer that is apparently fortified with starfish extracts. What that means exactly is unclear to me–what part of a starfish makes an extract? It’s a mystery that my quick research could not solve but anyway, it’s supposed to improve the skin’s elasticity and nourish it as well. Other ingredients include elm tree, niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, allatonin, and olive oil. This is going to be deeply moisturizing even though the texture of the cream is very light.

The cream has a very light, pleasant smell to it that reminds me of kalachuchi flowers and a sea breeze. It also supposed to be suitable for sensitive skin types, but I always recommend testing on the neck before ever applying something new to the face.
RSFC3It might very well be the starfish extract that gives this cream its most unique trait: its texture. It’s a gel-like cream that is very lightweight and almost bouncy to the touch. It’s pretty cool to play with, hehe! It takes a while to sink in on the skin, which is why it’s recommended for use at night, but it’s also suggested that you mix it in with foundation (water based) for a dewy effect. The cream comes with a plastic spatula, which is nice because you don’t have to dip your fingers into it when you use it (tip: wash you hands well and do that just once. So fun to poke! haha). Just make sure to keep the spatula itself clean, otherwise it will be totally useless!

I haven’t used this long enough to say if it has any amazing long-term effects, but it certainly seems like a promising product. For now, allow me to redirect you to a couple of other reviews that I feel are more comprehensive:

There are times when I say that I’ll get back to you guys about a particular product and then I just totally forget to do so… but I have a feeling about this one. I will have more to say about it!
bntboxOh and I realized I never got to show you guys a better photo of the box. You can see every product clearly here, so you guys know what to expect! There’s a lot of skincare, so expect a lot of first impressions. And as far as I know, only Nature Republic is available for purchase locally. Will save that one for last. ;)
