Breaking the Ban

I thought I should let you guys know… I broke my makeup ban some time in late November. I don’t feel as bad about it as I thought I would, and to explain myself I’ll just have to show you what I got and tell you what price I got them at.

So the story is that my cousin works for the company that handles several large makeup brands in the country. A few times a year, they’re given access to a huge sale on cosmetics. Knowing that I love makeup, she sent me a few photos of the available items together with their sale prices. You already know I was unable to resist. Here’s what I asked her to get me: GuerlainBlushGuerlain Rose Aux Joues in 06 Red Hot – This blush duo is a part of Guerlain’s Fall 2012 releases. There are six different colour palettes offered and Red Hot seems to be the most intense of them. I did not have the luxury of choice when it came to shade selection with this particular product, but looking at the other shades, I think this is the one I would have chosen anyway. Regular retail price is $50.00 (roughly 2,200.00 Php) but I was able to get it for $23.00 (or 1000.00 Php). :)  GuerlainBronzerGuerlain Terracotta Bronzer in 03 – When Temptalia gives a product an A+, I pretty much begin to lust after it immediately. She’s mentioned Guerlain’s Terracotta bronzers as one of her fave formulas many times, so I’ve lusted for them at counters for the past year or so. I was able to get my hands on the shade 03, which is meant for people with golden undertones and seems to be the perfect shade to add warmth to my face. Score. :) Regular retail price is also $50.00 and I was able to pick it up for just about $18.00 (or 800.00 Php). :)

Such amazing prices for such pricey products! I do feel a tiny bit guilty, but it just made sense to buy these babies. I didn’t know if the opportunity would present itself again, so I jumped at it. And I’m happy that I did. :)

Reviews to follow. :)

Aww.. well, I too would not be able to resist that, because at more than 50% off, it’s practically a bargain. I wonder how your boyfriend reacted, though. Did he know?

He was actually pretty upset with me. Hehe! We came up with a compromise though. I was supposed to be able to chose one holiday collection item to buy this month. I gave that up na lang. :)

  3. Wow! lucky you to have a cousin who has access on employees’ sales! :D great buys too! I’d gladly break my makeup ban if i’ll be getting these huge discounts! :)
