Hey guys! It’s been a while, I’m sorry. I’ve been sick as a dog these past couple of days and I also have my last two final exams to tackle this week. Worst time to be sick, really. I’ve been in and out of bed trying to study, failing miserably and then napping instead. My room also tends to become incredibly messy when I am sick, so I started tidying up my makeup for a while and realized that it really took my mind off of everything. So I thought maybe writing a quick post would have the same effect. I have a little purchase I wanted to share with you guys from last week, anyway. K Palette stuff, yay! ^u^ Picked up the Real Lasting Eye Pencil in Deep Brown (750.00 Php) and the Zero Kuma Concealer in Type 3 (795.00 Php– on sale?) from Beauty Bar. I didn’t exactly need either of these things, but since when does necessity dictate my makeup purchases, lol. I had heard amazing things about the pencil liner (and swatched it a bajillion times!) and the Zero Kuma is a long-time fave, but now I’m trying out a different type.
I feel like you can’t go wrong with K Palette stuff. Their liquid eyeliners and (type 1) Zero Kuma Concealer are such a staple in my collection that I’ve repurchased them so many times already. And I mean hello, the brand is Japanese. How can it not be awesome? Don’t let the Japanese text on the (super cute) packaging scare you off! There is usually a sticker at the back that explains everything in English, hehe.
So the Real Lasting Eye Pencil promises, just like its liquid liner brother, to stay on for 24 hours. Now I haven’t had a chance to test it (or any product, for that matter) out for that long, but it certainly lasts for up to 14 hours at least. That’s the longest I’m ever out of the house with makeup on. I like to use pencil liners right up against my lash line to give the appearance of thicker lashes, and the super thin tip on this one really helps me stay as close as possible. Pencils tend to look less harsh than liquid liners, so while I still reach for my brown liquid liner quite often, this one is better suited to the summer months, in my opinion.
The liner also does not smudge at all once it is set, and yet it comes off easily with a makeup remover when you’re ready to take it off. I don’t know how K Palette formulates stuff that way, but it’s really awesome. I chose Deep Brown because when I use it (as I explained above) I try to just get a really natural look out of it. I could also build it up if I wanted to, of course, and I will probably be getting the black version eventually. The twist-up mechanism and fine tip means no sharpening required. That’s music to my ears!
As for the Zero Kuma Concealer, I just wanted to try out a different Type since I’ve been using Type 1 (review here) for ages now. Type 1 (on the left in the photo above) is also called “Natural Beige” and it’s meant to address dryness under the eyes and moderate dark circles. Type 3 on the other hand, is known as “Orange Beige” and is meant to address poor blood circulation. It’s the swatch to the right above, and you can see that it looks much lighter than Type 1. These concealers are pretty sheer though, so the lightness is strangely not a problem. It is, of course, slightly more brightening in effect. I still prefer Type 1, but I’m sure i’ll get use out of both shades! :)
And that’s it! I highly recommend K Palette products. They’re reasonably priced for the quality and the brand is really no-nonsense. I personally love that they only offer black and dark brown for their eyeliners and brow products. They’re the best basics you’ll find anywhere!
Ok, back to nursing my sick body. Hope you guys are well! :)
Hope you feel better and good luck with exams! :) the liner is truly brilliant!
I’ve never tried anything from K Palette but now I’m completely sold! The liner looks promising (I have oily lids/oily everything); excited to try!
K Palette Real Lasting Eyebrow Pen is nice also :D
I’ve heard great things about the eyeliner. I will have to try it out when I am done with my current one. ~~
Hi Mariana. Get well soon!
I also got 0-Kuma Type 3 recently. At first, I wasn’t sure if it would suit me, since Type 2 seemed closer to my skin tone. The store didn’t have Type 2 in stock at the time though, so I decided to throw caution to the wind. (Hehe. And if it didn’t work out, I would just use Type 3 with other concealers I already have.) Lucky for me, the gamble paid off. Type 3’s color was an exact match. Hmm… maybe Type 2 is brighter than what I need, so no regrets here. :)
No wonder why you love them for they really seem like great products to try out. I will surely check on this and see why.
I have type 3, and it is a bit thicker for my liking, but still works. Also, I love bold brows, and I think it suits me so I use Real Lasting Eye Pencil in Deep Brown to outline them. Hihi :D
