Copper & Cool: Sigma x Luxola

LSG1Luxola hasn’t been around for long, but it’s already one of the top players in the Asian online makeup selling biz. The site carries tons of awesome brands, such as Real Techniques, Rouge Bunny Rouge, 3CE (!), Edward Bess, Sleek, and of course, Sigma, which is the top-selling brand. This is my first transaction with Luxola, and the site did reach out to me for this particular one, but it was really only a matter of time before I purchased something from them. I’ve actually been waiting for their stock of a particular product to be replenished. But anyway, back to this little haul! Sigma is celebrating its 5th annivesary this year and they’ve come out with a special copper collection to celebrate.

LSG2I mean look at those gorgeous copper ferrules. YES. What else does one say when presented with such beauty. Here I have the F80 Flat Kabuki (limited edition for the collection), E21 Smudge, E11 Eye Liner, and a Sigma Gel Eyeliner in the shade UnexpectedLX2Only the F80 has this text on it, which makes me feel oh-so-privileged to own it. I’m a sucker for warmer metals, so seeing the copper tone on a brush gives me deep satisfaction. Now let’s go through these babies quickly, but one at a time: LX11. F80 Flat Kabuki (1,214.00 Php) – You can use this brush with liquid bases, powder foundations, and even wax-based foundations. Sigma’s brushes are made using synthetic material and that makes them highly durable (while always still surprisingly soft) and versatile. The flat top kabuki is great for buffing products in and you get an airbrush-like finish from it.

2. E21 Smudge Brush (798.00 Php) – I was so happy to receive this brush because it’s actually difficult to find a brush that’s both soft enough and small enough to use on the lower lash line. Of course you could use this for a varitety of purposes, but that’s what I like using the E21 for almost exclusively.

3. E11 Eye Liner (798.00 Php) – Perfect for use with gel liners, like the one I’ll be talking about in a bit. The tip of the E11 has just the right amount of give — you can create lines with full control using this brush. LX3Up close, you can see that the bristles are neat and the goooorgeous copper ferrules just enhance that. I love eye detail brushes. They’re small and unassuming, but they make the biggest difference when it comes to executing a polished eye look. LX5For the sake of comparison, here’s my F84 Angled Kabuki with the usual chrome ferrule beside the limited edition copper F80. Shape-wise, I prefer the F84, but the flat top does seem to work better with powders… plus it is prettier. So I love them both. LX6And finally here is the first Sigma makeup item I’ve ever tried: the Sigma Gel Eyeliner in Unexpected (728.50 Php). This is an incredible gel liner formula and quite surprisingly, the shade Unexpected (a heather grey) is super easy to use. If you have brown eyes like I do, you may have noticed that grey eyeshadows tend to bring that brown-ness out. Same goes for grey eyeliner, apparently. The result of using this is a defined line that isn’t as harsh as black liner. I owe you guys swatches of this product — the pigmentation is mind-blowing.

I’m crazy-happy with all of these products. I’m also starting to realise that I have a slight obsession with makeup brushes — I can never seem to get enough of them. But I guess that’s an issue I can tackle another day, when I make my next brush purchase, which is inevitable, really. Lol.

So thanks Luxola, for this treat! :) If you haven’t yet checked out their site, DO! And sign up for the mailing list while you’re at it. They have little promos and sales quite often, so it’s easy to get a good deal on those products you’ve been lusting after. ;)

Luxola was super generous in sending me these products and they decided to be even more generous by offering TBB readers a PROMO CODE! Enter LX-BANTUNG at checkout and you get 20% off on your first orders. ;) That will be valid up until the 31st of October.

Happy shopping, guys! :)

  1. I’ve never heard of this site before but it looks amazing! They certainly sent you some wonderful products. Also, I’ve only just discovered your blog and I’m already loving it!

  2. I have the Sigma Precision Tapered and love using it for concealer around the eyebags, nose and lips. I think in general, Sigma brushes are pretty dense and soft. Let us know how the gel liner is!
