A Different Kind of Subscription Service: She Likes Shoes

Do you like shoes? I most certainly do and I think a good number of women would respond to that question with a “yes” in a heartbeat. That being said, there are degrees of liking shoes. I have a friend who owns close to 70 (!) pairs — each of them unique and well-loved. Other still have closets set up just to display their shoe collections. I’m not quite at that point (I would call myself more of a bag person), but I do like having more than just the basics when it comes to footwear. My personal “collection” consists of close to 30 pairs, some of which I share with my mom.

I have wanted to revamp my shoe game for a while, but I just don’t have the time to spend hours in a department store’s shoe department (although I would love that). Thank goodness for online shopping and subscription services –that’s right, a subscription service is part of the solution to my problem! Enter She Likes Shoes

She Likes Shoes is the first and only shoe subscription service in the Philippines. It works exactly the same way as with beauty sub boxes, but with shoes! How awesome is that? For a relatively small amount of money, you get access to SLS’s monthly closets and one or two shoes, depending on which STEP you’ve picked (we’ll get into that again later). So, here’s what you gotta do:

1. Sign up at http://www.shelikesshoes.com/ Signing up doesn’t mean you’ve subscribed yet, but you have to do it to see the shoe closet for that month. If you like what you see, you can then hit SUBSCRIBE NOW.

2. Choose how long you want to subscribe for (3, 6, or 12 months) and your method of payment (Paypal or Pesopay). Php 499.00 will be charged to your account on the 3rd of each month for the length of time you’ve chosen.

Screen Shot 2014-10-05 at 6.56.27 PM So now let’s get back to that STEP system I mentioned earlier. Shoes in the shoe closet are categorized in STEPS. All basic  subscribers are allowed 1 pair of shoes every month from the 1 STEP shoe category BUT you can opt to BUY more steps for Php 500 per step. Each step gets you another pair of awesome shoes! :) With the points system, it means that to get the pair of shoes you want, you must have enough points! You may BUY MORE STEPS if you wish to get more shoes from our closet aside from the 1 pair subscribers are entitled to each month. To buy STEPS, just click BUY MORE STEPS and then select how many you want to buy . It’s all so convenient and the shipping is free as well! SLS2 For my very first She Likes Shoes transaction, I picked the Hermia and the Desdemona. The Desdemona is perfect for wearing to school when I need a rest from high heels,  but they’re also casual enough to wear outside of school. I love the slightly manly look, but the pointed tip at the front and the peep of skin around the ankle make for a slightly feminine touch. The Hermia sandal is super comfortable and perfect for quick runs out of the house, paired with shorts. I like that I don’t have to buckle up the sides every time I put them on. They feature a “fake” buckle that slips into a clasp instead.

I’ve received a lot of compliments about the Desdemona shoe already and I’m impressed by how much they actually go together with. I’ve recommended She Likes Shoes to all of the nice ladies who have stopped me to ask where I got my shoes, and I’m doing the same with you guys! They were all shocked to hear of a SHOE subscription service and really, it’s quite the novel idea.

Check out the She Likes Shoes website to see the September closet, which is the current collection available. They change out the closet once a month so just think of the variety of shoes you will have to choose from! Check out my Instagram account to see my shoes make cameos and follow SLS on their social media accounts as well to see the styles of the month and to keep up with updates:

I’ve actually been considering this since I like their boots selection, however I’m concerned about fit and softness of the material.
