I enjoy reading other people’s “Sunday Currently” posts, so I thought I’d give it a go. Can’t assure you that mine will be interesting, but here it goes!
Reading
A collection of Octavio Paz’s essays. I am admittedly unfamiliar with his body of work but am enjoying his litcrit so far. Also loving the Saga of The Swamp Thing for my bedtime read. I’m new to the world of comics (so no, I am not familiar with all the complexities of the different universes — I have a general idea of them though), but already I get the feeling that you can’t go wrong with anything Moore touches.
Writing
Uhm, this post? This is a funny question. Haha.
Listening
Listening to my neighbour’s fountain, I suppose. And the random sounds of my house at 12 noon on a Sunday. I rarely ever play music in my room and I don’t like having the TV on in the background. (Silence is my friend.)
Watching
Buffy The Vampire Slayer. I recently downloaded the first three seasons and I am nearly done with them but I can’t find the rest of the seven! Huhu. I was a big Buffy fan when I was younger, but I only really got into it from the latter part of the fourth season and up. So I never knew what a hunk Angel was. Omg he is a veritable hunk, my friends.
Thinking
That I should really get rid of half of the clothes in my closet.
Smelling
Absolutely nothing, if that’s possible. My “room smell”?
Wishing
Wishing that my yoga studio had late classes on Sundays. Their last class is at 2pm and I’m usually busy with family stuff at that time.
Hoping
… that my British visa comes through in time for an extended trip that I’ll be going on very soon.
Wearing
College shirt that says “One Big Fight” on it and cotton shorts. We were required to wear this shirt for P.E. classes, but after that it never saw the outside of my house again (it’s hideous and I’m not very much into the school spirit thing).
Loving
My new yoga mat. Carrot, apple, and ginger juice (that I make fresh at home). The view I get when I look outside my bedroom window (trees, trees, trees). My dog. Yoga in general. I love a lot of things. <3 Haha
Wanting
More clothes from the sales at Zara and the British brands (Topshop, Warehouse, etc.).
Needing
Yoga pants that don’t cost an arm and a leg!
Feeling
Generally quite happy. Life works itself out if you let it… and help it along to a certain degree.
The photo at the beginning of this post is from yesterday’s visit to Pinto Art Gallery in Antipolo. Greg and I decided to check it out because we were sick of malls, malls, malls. And we enjoyed it quite a bit. There were some pieces that I thought were interesting, but they were difficult to find. I also thought the museum’s different galleries felt a little confused in terms of how they were organised… but still, I’m glad that such a place even exists. The property was gorgeous for sure.
P.S. I’ve created an Instagram account for this blog! It’s @thebeautybeeblog and I’d appreciate it if you checked it out and possible gave a me a follow. I post a lot of #Makeupoftheday posts and loads of selfies (so you have been warned). Hehe
Not proud to say that I have not been deliberately looking for good places to visit in the general metro manila area. My default place to go to are coffee shops and malls. Laziness :(
This is an eye opener, Iana. Thank you.
Mall culture is difficult to pull away from when stuck in Manila! Luckily places like Tagaytay and Antipolo are close enough for day trips. :)
