Human Nature’s Balm For All Seasons (100.00 Php at Beauty Bar) has been in my life for quite a while now. This is a repurchase, but not because I finished my first pot… I lost it some time last year. I initially bought it in January of 2014 because I (mistakenly) thought it was a multipurpose lip balm. Turns out that a “soothing balm” is one of those oil-based thingies that you warm up in your hands then lift up to your nose for a calming, spa-like experience.
theBalm’s Cindy-Lou Manizer (945.00 Php) is quite literally the highlighter of my dreams— I had a dream about writing this blog entry last night, so when I woke up this morning I got straight to photographing the product. Now here I am making that dream come true, yay! Haha. But really, I should have featured this highlighter a long time ago. I use it nearly everyday. Cindy-Lou is a younger sister to the more well-known Mary-Lou Manizer. Mary-Lou offers a champagne/light gold highlight while Cindy-Lou is a peachy pink hue. Both can be used as either a highlighter or an eyeshadow as they are highly pigmented. I only own Cindy-Lou so this will not be a comparison post, but the reason why I never picked up Mary-Lou is that it is much too light (i.e. nearly white-based) for my skin tone. Some people swear by it though, so pick a shade that you think will suit your skin.
I picked this up back in May, thinking it would make a nice highlighter for the summer. I ended up hardly using it during the summer months and adoring it in this cooler weather we’ve been having instead.
Hey guys! It’s been a while, I’m sorry. I’ve been sick as a dog these past couple of days and I also have my last two final exams to tackle this week. Worst time to be sick, really. I’ve been in and out of bed trying to study, failing miserably and then napping instead. My room also tends to become incredibly messy when I am sick, so I started tidying up my makeup for a while and realized that it really took my mind off of everything. So I thought maybe writing a quick post would have the same effect. I have a little purchase I wanted to share with you guys from last week, anyway. K Palette stuff, yay! ^u^ Picked up the Real Lasting Eye Pencil in Deep Brown (750.00 Php) and the Zero Kuma Concealer in Type 3 (795.00 Php– on sale?) from Beauty Bar. I didn’t exactly need either of these things, but since when does necessity dictate my makeup purchases, lol. I had heard amazing things about the pencil liner (and swatched it a bajillion times!) and the Zero Kuma is a long-time fave, but now I’m trying out a different type.
I feel like you can’t go wrong with K Palette stuff. Their liquid eyeliners and (type 1) Zero Kuma Concealer are such a staple in my collection that I’ve repurchased them so many times already. And I mean hello, the brand is Japanese. How can it not be awesome? Don’t let the Japanese text on the (super cute) packaging scare you off! There is usually a sticker at the back that explains everything in English, hehe.
I’m no farmer, but I do have mistreated hands (I crack my knuckles, peel at dry skin, wash my hands a lot, and wash dishes sometimes). Here’s something that’s been helping me treat that lately: my big tin of Burt’s Bees Hand Salve.
Tomorrow I finally take my last exam for the semester and I can get back to gushing about makeup. Hooray! :) I’m going to try to post at least every other day beginning Monday, but I just had to share something with you guys (as I’m taking a short break to rest my brain anyway).
I’m still on my makeup ban, but I do like to keep up with what’s new, even if it kills me because I know I can’t buy anything (all of the holiday collections are launching! *cries).
So I popped into beauty Bar earlier this week and spotted an interesting new brand called Yadah. It’s Korean, cutesy, and really affordable! They seem to have everything from sunblock and bb creams to lipbalms, mascara, and even makeup pouches! The one thing that really caught my eye though was the lip crayon!
They didn’t even have testers out the first time I saw the brand so I went back this afternoon to have a look again. They had testers open this time and everything I sort of checked for consistency and colour pay-off looked really promising, but today I’ll just be sharing swatches of the lip crayons!
There are five colours to choose from and they go for 195Php a pop. There’s one very sheer shade and the other four are satisfyingly pigmented, though they’re definitely not full coverage. Tbh, I wanted to share photos and swatches of more of the brand, but I got hiya to take more photos! Hehe
Rose Pink and Lovely Pink are my top picks and I nearly broke my ban for them. Lovely Pink in particular looks like a shade that will suit the season’s brighter lip trend… Which I was quite surprised by, but it’s fun naman. The sheer shade (Pink Tint) looks boring in the photo, but in person and on my hand, the sheen looked really lovely. Not too glittery but not a plain old clear gloss either. Speaking of gloss, Yadah also had lip glosses in squeezy tubes as well as tinted lip balms in pots! Both look promising.
Here’s a (blurry) photo of Rose Pink
Behind/under it is one of the make up pouches. The pencils are not twist-up ones so you’ll need a medium sized sharpener for these. Again, they go for 195Php at Beauty Bar. Not bad!
Have you seen Yadah or tried anything from the brand? Do share! :)
P.S. Wrote this on my phone and took the photos with my phone as well so formatting might be weird! Will check on the laptop when I can. Was just itching to write! Hehe. Have a great weekend, guys!
The Human Nature 100% Natural Perfect Coverage Mineral Foundation is the best makeup find I’ve made this year so far, and I don’t see another product surpassing it. I’ve been using it for a couple of months and I still can’t get over how good it is, especially because it’s locally-produced.
